Expansion of Cardif Lux Vie's SIF offer
2021-04-01
Introduced in the Circular Letter of the Luxembourg Commissariat aux Assurances (LC 15/3), the SIF has now been added to the range of investment vehicles that may be included in Luxembourg life insurance and capitalisation policies.
The SIF meets the asset management objectives of a demanding client base, and of clients with a knowledge of the financial markets, giving them the option of choosing for themselves the assets that make up their fund. Falling bond yields over recent months and clients’ desire to give meaning to their investments have further accelerated demand for more flexible products.
Against this background, subscribers may directly choose the underlying assets in their SIF from a large investment universe defined by the LC 15/3 within the framework of Free Management or, when applicable, on the basis of advice given by their advisor as part of an Advisory Management arrangement. Depending on investor category as defined in the LC 15/3 (based on the amount of the premium and declared wealth), investors will be able to select assets such as equities, bonds, ETFs, units in collective investment undertakings or even structured products and non-traditional assets (private equity, alternative funds, real estate funds). This flexible solution exists in addition to investment vehicles such as internal dedicated funds or collective internal funds.
